Driving along I-87 (but,
unfortunately, not at 140 mph like Richard used to). The Catskills
loom up ahead. |
The Saugerties Exit off of I-87. Notice the Band-like screech
marks! |
We find Stoll Road. Even the sign is
cool looking! And, as we continue driving down Stoll with the
window open, I notice that it smells really good, too. |
Stoll Road, about a mile before the
turnoff for Parnassus Lane. It wasn't nearly as bumpy as we'd
expected—but, of course, we do have an SUV. |
Although its
mailbox address is Stoll Road, Big Pink is actually located on
Parnassus Lane. I guess the USPS doesn't consider Parnassus
navigable! |
Here's the group
of mailboxes at the end of Parnassus Lane. Big Pink's is the
big silver one (2188 Stoll Road). |
Parnassus Lane.
Its surface is made of very sharp, crumbling slate! |
Our first view of Big Pink. It's
actually not a very big house! (You can also see a 158Kb version.)
