Just a few short months after the release of The Last Waltz, Robbie Robertson came home to be awarded a Gold Record. These photos were taken in the studios of radio station Q-107 where John Donabie (left) was working at the time. Ross Reynolds (right), then President of Warner Music in Canada, made the presentation. Warner Brothers asked station management if it could be given to Robbie on Donabie's show, because of his love for the music of The Band. What Donabie did not know is that Robbie and Warner's sprung an award on him that night to his great surprise. He had no idea about this part of the evening. The plaque read "For His Continuous Support and Promotion of The Band."
