Caught the first show in this two week tour last night. A little tight and rusty as the band members were arriving from different locations. No time for rehearsals. At first, the interplay between Garth on improvisational jazz riffs and Sneaky Pete with pedal steel licks seemed incongruent, but they did hit their stride on a few numbers, The Weight notable among them. I think by the end of two weeks on the road, they might gel. Vocals were good, drummer sang backup and played well. Lots of Gram Parsons and Flying Burrito Bros. songs. Not a sellout, but an appreciative crowd. Garth was quite animated. He named Streets of Baltimore his favorite. After the show, everyone was available for signing. I must say, however, that some folks crowded Garth with an abundance of albums to be signed. He was accommodating, but I wish someone would have been there to help limit people to one or two items.
