The Call: The Best of the Call

[cover art]

This is the first Australian anthology of the work of Michael Been ("one of the most literate lyricists in rock'n' roll today," according to Rolling Stone) and his band, The Call (a British The Call compilation, The Walls Came Down, was released in 1991). Spanning the group's career, it includes the 80's top 20 single "The Walls Came Down" as well as two new tracks. The Call's recordings feature a host of guest stars, included here are cameos by Peter Gabriel, U2's Bono, Jim Kerr of Simple Minds and Garth Hudson of The Band. Backing Been on the two new tracks here are singer/songwriter Bruce Cockburn and legendary drummer Jim Keltner.
