Various Artists: Follow the Sun
2017 compilation of oddball folk and what-not from Australia. Someone
has been scraping the barrel of badly recorded and produced '70s indie
label shite from down under and put it on this "anthology". As such,
the Shepherd's cover of Richard Manuel and The Band's
"Whispering Pines",
complete with out-of-tune guitars and vocal, fits well. Not for
delicate ears. Originally released as the B-side of Shepherd's 1972
single "Birmingham Station"/"Whispering Pines" (Philips 6037 009).
