Ronnie Hawkins & the Hawks: The Hawk in Concert

Concert video recorded in 1984 at Cajun Wharf, Little Rock, Arkansas, proving that Ronnie could always put together a crisp and funky band. The Hawks line-up here is Bill Dillon - guitar. Robin Hawkins - guitar. Steve Hogg - bass, Stan Szelest - piano, Dave Lewis - drums, Amy Sky - background vocal, Ed Burks - harmonica. Bill Dillon was later to emerge significantly on Robbie's solo albums. Ed Burks had played percussion on Mr Dynamo.

The Hawks version of "The Weight" here is outstandingly good for a cover (better than some of the weaker Band versions in fact). Ronnie doesn't participate, but verses are taken in turn by Ed Burks, Amy Sky, Steve Hogg, Robin Hawkins and Bill Dillon.
