Various Artists: Hoagyland
Songs of Hoagy Carmichael
Japanese tribute album,
recorded at Sear Sound, NYC and
released in August 2000, featuring Garth Hudson.
Performers include Band-related acts like Simon, Hirth Martinez and
Geoff Muldaur.
I just bought Hoagyland - Songs of Hoagy Carmichael
produced & arranged by John Simon. Garth Hudson plays accordion on
unspecified tracks; actually I hear only a few seconds of accordion on the
entire album, in the intros of "Stardust" and "In The Cool, Cool, Cool Of The
Evening." John
Simon's albums often remind me of Hoagy Carmichael, so it's only natural that
he should produce this tribute album.
