The Band: Il Rock 5
The volume in the Italian rock album series, Il Rock, devoted to The Band is a well-chosen, ten-song compilation drawing upon the group's first six albums, though, in effect, most of the material is from the first three, Music from Big Pink, The Band and Stage Fright. Since those were the Band's best albums, and these are its best songs, that's fine. In fact, by including such tracks as "This Wheel's on Fire" (in its live version from Rock of Ages), "I Shall Be Released" and "Chest Fever," this anthology is superior to The Best of the Band.-- William Ruhlmann, All-Music Guide
