Hugo Montenegro: Mammy Blue

[cover art]

Orchestral "easy-listening" versions of various "hits" from film-composer, conductor and composer Montenegro (1925-1981). Includes a dreadful take on The Band's "Dixie", with Na-Na-Na choir, wild howling (think failed attempts at Pink Floyd's "The Great Gig in the Sky") and an incredibly misplaced glockenspiel(!), topped off with shattering kettledrums at the end of the choruses.

Tracks

  1. All I Can Do (K. Simmonds/P. Raymond)
  2. Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey (McCartney/McCartney)
  3. Superstar (L. Russel/P. Bramlett)
  4. Medley: If I Were a Rich Man & Fiddler on... (J. Bock/S. Harnick)
  5. Mammy Blue (J. Bock/S. Harnick)
  6. I Feel the Earth Move (King)
  7. Peace Train (Stevens)
  8. The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down (J. Robbie Robertson)
  9. Zingaro (Mattone/Migliacci/Wayne)
  10. Yo-Yo (South)
  11. Movin' On (Montenegro)
