Duane Rutter: Crazy Things
October 2015 album from Canadian roots veteran Duane Rutter, featuring Garth Hudson on piano and Sister Maud Hudson singing, on closing track
"Take That Water".
Released by Busted Flat Records, an independent label based in Kitchener, Ontario, specializing in roots, blues, folk, and alt-country.
In 2015 I recorded my 3rd album Crazy Things and was
fortunate enough to have had Garth and Sister Maud join me on a couple
of tracks: "Who Found Who" and "Take That Water". At the end of "Take That
Water", Garth improvised a wonderful piece that we kept on the album.
I grew up around the corner from the Danko family in Norfolk County
Ontario Canada. Robbie's mother was from the same Native Reservation
where my grandmother was born.
The Band was always my favourite and
you can imagine how thrilled I was to see my album on The Bands most
comprehensive webpage. I post this not to plug my own record but to
let you know that you can hear Garth does some amazing work here of
which you are most likely not aware.
