The Last Waltz 25th Anniversary[Music and film] [Reviews] [Photos] [Video clips]On November 25th, 1976, the orginal line-up of The Band played their final concert at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, the same venue where they did their first shows as The Band in April 1969. The event, staged by Bill Graham and later documented on a triple-LP and in Martin Scorses's excellent concert film The Last Waltz, turned into an all-star show with many of The Band's musical friends showing up on stage to pay tribute to the group. This page is a collection of links to Last Waltz material, marking the 25th anniversary of the concert. For many of the fans, the Last Waltz concert is what made us discover The Band and turned us into life-long admirers of the music and the brilliant musicians. The good news is that in 2002, remastered and improved versions of the live album and the film will be released on CD and DVD, with bonus tracks, outtakes and unused footage. Concert reviews
