The Coutning Crows' lead singer Adam Duritz prefaces the song in concerts with a brief intro that Richard Manuel was one of his heros and how he was saddened to read the account of Richard's death in his local paper some 15 years ago. The song is about realizing how fast things come and go in one's life.
