We received more than 50 e-mails with quiz answers over the next two weeks, only 11 of these had the correct answer:

Levon Helm singing a commercial for Case/International Harvester agricultural machinery in 1989.
The line-up on this track is: Levon Helm - vocals and mandolin, Bob Rans - keyboards and drums, Bill Ruppert - guitars, Jim Tullio - bass. Recorded and mixed by Bob Rans at Tullio and Rans office studio. You can listen to the whole song here.

A little C-program using random numbers, written by yours truly, was used to select one of the contestans with the correct answer. And the lucky winner of a '90s The Band t-shirt is (drum roll):
