Absolutely Fabulous

The Bob Dylan/ Rick Danko song "This Wheel's on Fire" was used as the theme song to the massively successful award-winning BBC 1992-1995 TV series Absolutely Fabulous.

Julie Driscoll, who together with Brain Auger & The Trinity had a hit with the song in 1970, recorded "This Wheel's on Fire" again with Adrian Edmonson for the series. For the 1996 special finale 2-part special "The Last Shout", the "Wheels" theme was re-recorded, this time sung by Marianne Faithfull (who also appears as God) and the legendary P.P. Arnold. Both cover versions are available on video releases from the TV series.

Yet another version with Julie Tippett (nee Driscoll) with Adrian Edmonson and Hermione Demoriane appeared as the closing theme to Absolutely Fabulous , 2001 series Episode 3 (set in Paris), first broadcast BBC1, UK, Friday September 14th 2001. Hermione Demoriane sings lead vocal in a strong French accent.

Debbie Harry and Adrian Edmonson also recorded "This Wheel's On Fire" for the AbFab Xmas Special on 27 December 2002. The episode included a very brief clip of Debbie Harry singing.
