[cover art]

[CD cover]

Fox Confessor... is the fifth solo album from alternative country singer/songwriter Neko Case, who is also known as a member of the Vancouver supergroup the New Pornographers. The album was recorded in Tucson, Arizona, spanning 11 original songs plus the traditional country number "John Saw That Number." Featured performers on the record include Joey Burns and John Convertino of Calexico, Dallas and Travis Good from the Sadies, and Howe Gelb from Giant Sand. Case also gets help from a member of the rock'n'roll Hall of Fame, as keyboardist Garth Hudson appears on the tracks "Margaret vs. Pauline," "Star Witness," "John Saw That Number," and "Maybe Sparrow."

Release on the Canadian Anti label in March 2006. Re-released by Anti in November 2007 as a deluxe edition that includes a five-song bonus CD with choice cuts from two previous solo albums, 2002 standout Blacklisted and 2000's Furnace Room Lullaby.
