Martin Mull: Martin Mull
The songs on Martin Mull's first album (some of which
are available on his Greatest Hits album) include
"Livin' Above My Station",
"Partly Marion",
"Eggs"
"The Bag I'm In (Is Just A Package From the Package Store)"
"Margie the Midget"
and "Songwriter's Blues".
The album has some humorous lyrics but isn't flat out comedy like his
later albums. Martin Mull, born in 1943 and probably best known as a TV/movie actor and comedian, is a multi-genre artist that has been working as a novelty singer, songwriter, painter, and writer. Levon Helm guests on Mull's self-titled debut album from the early '70s. The Band's producer John Simon (choir director) and Levon's girlfriend Libby Titus (background vocals) are also present on this album
