The Holmes Brothers: State of Grace

January 2007 release from veteran roots/gospel/blues trio the Holmes Brothers -- bassist Sherman Holmes, guitarist/keyboardist Wendell Holmes and drummer Popsy Dixon. Formed in 1979, they've recorded with famous artists like Van Morrison, Peter Gabriel, Odetta and Phoebe Snow. Guests on State of Grace include Joan Osborne, Rosanne Cash and Levon Helm, who is joined by his daughter Amy Helm with a heartfelt lead on "I've Just Seen The Rock Of Ages."
