John Sebastian: Tar Beach

[cover art]

A low-key comeback album from Sebastian, showing that his melodic folk-pop hasn't lost its charm in the seventeen years since he recorded his last record.
-- Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All-Music Guide

Recorded near his home in Woodstock, New York, Tar Beach is a welcome dose of the "good time" music that made John Sebastian a rock and roll legend, combined with a few uncharacteristically dark songs that came out of growing with his generation, losing close musical mates, and generally living in modern America.

Levon Helm appears on one track on Tar Beach. He also co-wrote the song "Someone's Standing in Your Door" with Sebastian.
