Tompall Glaser: The Rogue

[cover art]

Tompall Glaser became famous as an "outlaw" singer when he was packaged together with Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter on the immensely popular 1976 album Wanted! The Outlaws. Over the course of four decades Glaser wrote and recorded a wealth of excellent folk- and rock-influenced country songs, having numerous chart records alone and with his brothers, Chuck and Jim, into the 1980s

The Rogue from 1994 is a companion disc to the Bear Family label's first Tompall Glaser CD, The Outlaw, that collected his two late-'70s albums for ABC. The Rogue adds a third, previously unreleased album recorded for ABC before the label folded, and an album's worth of covers of classic country songs made circa 1990, including a version of "What a Town" from Rick Danko.
