Siouxsie & the Banshees: Through the Looking Glass

[cover art]

Siouxsie & the Banshees, fronted by vocalist Siouxsie Sioux (Susan Dallion), had a successful career over two decades, after they emerged from the London punk scene in the '70s, transforming their music from primitive punk to sophisticated "art rock".

"This Wheel's on Fire" was a minor single hit for Siouxsie & The Banshees (who at the time of the recording hadn't realised it was a Dylan/Danko song) and was included on Through the Looking Glass, an album of rock and pop cover songs, including everything from Sparks' "This Town Ain't Big Enough for Both of Us" to "Strange Fruit."

The cover version of "This Wheel's..." can also be found on Twice Upon a Time: The Singles (Siouxsie & the Banshees, 1992, Geffen 24492), The Best of Siouxsie & the Banshees (Polydor 0651502, 2002), the various-artists album The Songs of Bob Dylan and several other compilations.
