Boyd SarneyPiano player Boyd Sarney, a child prodigy and the son of a teacher at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, played with Ronnnie Hawkins and the Hawks in Grand Bend, Ontario in 1961, filling in for Stan Szelest (who probably left sick for a while) in a hotel for the summer. Robbie Robertson called Sarney in Toronto, whereupon he quit his job, drove to Grand Bend and played as a Hawk for 3-4 months.
