The Last Brown Album Tribute Waltz

Arlene Grocery - New York City - May 31, 2001

George Gilmore organized this event by rounding up a bunch of ace session players who agreed to participate due to their love of The Band's classic second album. The 12 songs from the album were performed with note for note arrangements - horns being added for some of the tracks a la Rock of Ages. This group had performed the same show for the first time several months back but George said this recent one would be the very last. (Sounds familiar.)

Participants were: John Graboff - guitar/vocals, Dan Prater - bass/vocals, Crispin Cioe - sax, Bob Funk - trombone, Charlie Giordano - keyboards, Denny McDermott - drums, Don Harris - trumpet, Paul Scher - sax, Andy Burton - keyboards, and George Gilmore - vocals.
