Various Artists: Mines to Vines

Garth Hudson added the title track of his solo album The Sea To The North to the CD Mines to Vines, a compilation put together by Nenad Bach.

The Mines to Vines album is part of a project to help demine the earth and replace the mines with vines, with the hope that not so many children will be killed or maimed. Also, the vines will help to restore a bit of the economy, so families will acquire food and other things neccessary to not only survive, but to thrive once again. The music is also for morale, inspiration and awareness. These are the reasons for our participation.
--Maud Hudson, May 2002

Croatian-American musician Nenad Bach has worked with Band members earlier. Rick Danko and Garth Hudson both contributed to his 1992 charity project Can We Go Higher? A Song for the Victims of War.
