King Ring Razz and Spaz: Madhouse Studios Presents

[cover art]

[CD cover] [CD tray] [Track credits]

This CD from Toronto musician Michael Racioppa was released to promote his Madhouse Studios, which has "a bunch of organs" -- 4 of them are Lowrey organs, 2 of which are the same models used by Garth Hudson, the Lowrey Festival (Big Pink) and the H25-3 (The Last Waltz). One of these Lowreys was rented by Daniel Lanois for Garth to play on the 2008 album/documentary Here Is, What Is.

Madhouse Studios Presents has three really good covers of Band songs from Stage Fright ("Daniel and the Sacred Harp," "All La Glory," "Stage Fright" and "The Shape I'm In") and a cover of Dylan and The Band's "On a Night Like This" from Planet Waves. According to Racioppa, the cover versions are "more or less replications because they were recorded to promote the studio so I thought it best to stick close to the 'masters.'"
